Care Comes First

Women will endure immense discomfort, pain, and compromises to their own quality of life as long as they can keep up with the day to day needs of their families and their careers. I entered into the field of Gynecology because I felt I could make a difference in the lives of these every day superwomen.

I believe in the power of LISTENING. Too often, patients describe that their complaints have not been heard or have been brushed aside. They have not been asked the questions that invite them to share their pain and discomfort. They have not felt comfortable telling their story. I strive to create a safe space and an honest conversation to get to the root of the problem

Patients deserve to make informed decisions. Without learning about their bodies and understanding why they may be having their symptoms, they cannot choose the best course of treatment. Without understanding the risks and benefits of medical or surgical options, they cannot take an active role in their health. I believe in EDUCATION and EMPOWERMENT. Women should be confident in their bodies and their health; they deserve a physician who will help them achieve this.

"Far and away the best prize life offers is the chance to work hard for work worth doing."

The path to where I am today, as a board certified Gynecologist, AAGL certified Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon, and NAMS certified Menopause Practitioner, was a long and arduous experience. There were MANY ups and downs- and it would have been entirely impossible without the support of my incredible family and friends.

Throughout the 4 years of medical school at Albany Medical College, 4 years of OB/GYN residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, and the 2 years of Minimally Invasive GYN Fellowship at Mount Sinai, I am honored to have found lasting friendships that have made the experiences memorable and trusted mentors who have guided me along the way.

I am a Gynecologist- I get to meet and take care people of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. In listening to their fears and concerns, I try to find the treatment plan that is best suited to their individual needs. I love to educate and empower patients with knowledge, so they can participate in their health care and make informed decisions about their bodies.

I am a Surgeon- I am proud of the intensive surgical training I have had throughout my residency and fellowship, which allows me to offer a laparoscopic or robotic surgical approach for a variety of complex benign gynecologic conditions. I love when I can tell patients who had been told they are NOT a candidate for minimally invasive surgery, that I CAN do their surgery safely.

I am a wife and a mother. I have a loving husband and three beautiful children- they bring me so much joy and keep me centered! The enrichment they bring to my life helps me empathize and connect with the people I meet every day.
